Trail Running Locations

Waterfall Glen - Features a 10 mile loop on limestone with rolling terrain and nice scenery.  This is located in Darien, a short ride from Naperville. More info at www.dupageforest.com

Illinois Prarie Path - 62 miles of great trails throughout the western suburbs. The start of the trail is located downtown Wheaton, most of the trail is limestone, shady, and flat. More info at www.ipp.org

Herrick Lake/Danada Forest - There is an entrance on Naper Blvd just north of I88 and the main entrance is located off Butterfield road. This is an 8 mile loop of trails on limestone and great scenery, For more info www.dupageforest.com

Palos Forest - This has 20+ miles of great trails with some rolling hills and great scenery. This is located in Willow Springs just off I-55, about 20 minutes from Naperville but worth the trip. More info at www.fpdcc.com

Kettle Morraine - For a true adventure and a little raod trip you can head nroth to beautiful Kettle Morraine. The best trail running in the midwest and a mountain biking heaven. Over 50 miles of connecting trails that are breathtaking. More info can be found at www.dnr.state.wi.us.

DuPage River - Everyone should be familiar with this one as its our home course. Some great single track trails to explore and if your up for the challenge you can cross Naper Blvd and jump on the adjoining trail that will lead up to and around Wailand lake, you may need to bounce out to Royce Road for a couple blocks, be careful on Royce.

Green Valley - Local trail everyone should know with about 6-8 miles of hilly trails on limestone and nice scenery. For a quick run you can't beat it for location...test your stamina by trying to reach the top of the outlook hill now open to the public. Good luck !

Chicago's Lakefront - With over 18 miles of trails right on the lakefront you can't beat it for atmosphere and waterfront/skyline beauty. Explore the lakefront on this beautiful trail. Great starting points at Montrose Harbor, Lincoln Park Zoo, North Avenue Beach, or Navy Pier.
